E-Bike Repair in Vilnius: What Couriers Should Do When the Bike Breaks

A broken e-bike in the middle of a shift means lost orders. Here is how to deal with the most common problems, what you can check yourself and how repairs work when you rent from Kilun.

The most common problems on delivery e-bikes

  • Punctures and worn tyres — the most frequent problem in city delivery, because of glass, kerbs and potholes.
  • Worn brake pads — couriers brake hundreds of times a day, so pads wear much faster than on a leisure bike.
  • Chain and gear problems — a loose or stretched chain, or gears that jump.
  • Charging and range problems — often caused by the charger, the connector or a cold battery, not by the battery itself.
  • Display errors and loose cables — usually after a fall or many kilometres on bumpy roads.

What to check before you go to a workshop

  • Is the battery fully inserted, locked and switched on?
  • Does the charger light come on? Try another socket.
  • Check the tyre pressure — a soft tyre feels like a weak motor.
  • Squeeze the brake levers. If a lever almost touches the handlebar, do not ride.
  • After a fall, look for loose cables, a bent wheel or a damaged brake disc.

Riding with a fault costs more

Riding on a flat tyre damages the rim, and riding on worn brake pads damages the disc. A small repair done early is cheaper than a big one later — and much safer for you.

Repairs with a Kilun rental

  • Repairs are free for faults from factory defects or normal careful use.
  • In the Kilun app, tap Bike broken? to see the nearest open repair point and message it in one tap. We work with 6 repair points around Vilnius.
  • You do not pay rent for days when the bike cannot be used because of a fault.
  • Damage caused by careless use or an accident is charged at the cost of the repair, as written in the rental terms.

If you ride your own e-bike

Choose a workshop that knows your model and keeps the common parts in stock: tyres, inner tubes, brake pads and chargers. Ask for the price and the time needed before the work starts. Kilun also sells spare parts for the ENGWE M20.
